IGNITION COIL OF FORD "MODEL"T" Automobile.
It was one of 4 plug-in coils in a wood box, which ignited the 4 cylinders engine.
At the beginning of the 20th century, experimenters and hobbyists have built home-made Wireless Telegraph spark-gap transmitters from parts that were available at specialized stores.
The FORD T ignition coil was used by many for supplying the high voltage pulses to the spark gap circuit.
The picture at the right shows an example of amateur wireless telegraph spark-gap transmitter of those days.
